One of the things we miss the most about our vacations at Walt Disney World (versus living here) is dining! Now we do not deny that we enjoy plenty of food while out and about on Disney property as locals... But! There's a big difference between factoring a meal here and there into our food budget and needing every meal of the day provided by the mouse!
Planning is half the fun of vacation, right? Well today's blog will feature all of the restaurants we have reservations for during our staycation later this month! I will also include their descriptions from the Walt Disney World website and links to their menus.
We have booked breakfast reservations every morning of our stay! That is so unlike us and we are SO excited to eat all of the Mickey waffles.
The Wave... of American Flavors at the Contemporary Resort: "Delight in fresh American cuisine at this stylishly contemporary restaurant and lounge." We've heard amazing things about the plant based options here!
Trattoria al Forno at the Boardwalk Resort: "Savor Old World favorites for both breakfast and dinner at this casual Italian eatery." During this phase of reopening, there will be no character dining at this location, but we don't mind! We are so excited for this one as we've never even stepped foot inside of the restaurant!
Grand Floridian Cafe at the Grand Floridian Resort: "For casual American dining at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, this elegant yet unpretentious eatery can’t be beat." What a dream it will be to wake up at the Grand Floridian and eat breakfast here!
Kona Cafe at the Polynesian Village Resort: "This relaxed café infuses a bit of Asian zest into traditional American meals and features an onstage sushi kitchen." You bet we had to return for more french press coffee.
Because we will sit down for breakfast every day, most of our other planned meals are between lunch and dinner time. We also had to work around the parks closing earlier than usual. Let's eat!
The Plaza Restaurant at Magic Kingdom: "Discover casual dining amid an atmosphere of turn-of-the-century elegance at this charming gem located at the end of Main Street, U.S.A." Plant based bangers and mash, plus dairy-free milkshakes? We are there!
Tiffins at Animal Kingdom: "Set off on a culinary expedition of international cuisine at this restaurant inspired by exploration and adventure." We have been meaning to eat here forever! So ready to take in the theming and vacation drinks!
The Hollywood Brown Derby at Hollywood Studios: "Step into the Golden Age of Hollywood at this warm, wood-paneled restaurant serving contemporary American cuisine." Sarah hasn't eaten here since she was a child (and a picky eater), and Peter has never been. This is the meal we are most excited for!
That's everything we have booked! We are also looking forward to eating by the pool and at the quick service restaurants at our resorts. Other honorable mentions we plan on trying are Regal Eagle Smokehouse and everything we'll eat at the Taste of Food and Wine Festival (2020 menus linked here) at EPCOT.
What are your thoughts on our dining plans? Are there any restaurants on our list that you love (or avoid)? Please comment below your favorite Walt Disney World restaurants. We cannot wait to eat all of the food and share our experiences with all of you!
